I love being a Friend of Medium. If not only for the icon telling other writers I care.

There is a variable that comes to play when a Friend of Medium reads. Although my read value to the writer is four times higher, it is also divided up by my grand total reads in the month.

Example: If I only read 10 stories, the potion of my fee that goes to writers gets divided between them, approximately.

If I read 500 stories, my money gets divided between them, making the pay out 1/50th of the payout if I only read 10.

Hope that makes sense and I'm not totally talking out of my ass. 🫣
